Travis Kelce has commenced training in Florida, preparing for the upcoming NFL season with the Kansas City Chiefs. This development follows his confirmation in March that he would return for his 14th season with the team. Kelce was recently observed in athletic attire, specifically a black T-shirt and grey shorts, as he engaged in his training regimen.
His return to training occurs less than two weeks after he and Taylor Swift were married. The couple’s wedding ceremony took place at Madison Square Garden on July 3, with an estimated 1,000 guests in attendance. The event brought together figures from the football world, Hollywood, and Nashville, creating what one guest described as a spectacular evening.
Kelce’s Decision to Return
Kelce’s decision to continue playing for the Chiefs for another season was announced during an appearance on The Pat McAfee Show. He had previously stated his intention to forego retirement, expressing his enthusiasm by saying, “Let’s go! Making another run at it, baby, and the Chiefs are making moves, Pat.”
He also attributed his choice to return for another season to his wife, Taylor Swift. Kelce mentioned that they share a similar passion for their respective careers and possess a strong drive. He further emphasized his continued love for the game at the time of his announcement.
Prior to Kelce’s public announcement, a report indicated that his deal was valued at a minimum of $12 million, with a potential maximum of $15 million. This information was reported a day before his official statement. Kelce made his decision before the free agency period began and informed the Chiefs of his intent to return on a Monday.
The tight end’s most recent game was in mid-December 2025, when the Chiefs were eliminated from the playoffs after a loss to the Los Angeles Chargers. This marked the team’s first playoff elimination in a decade.
Wedding Details and Offseason Activities
The wedding ceremony for Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift at Madison Square Garden was a significant event, drawing numerous celebrity guests. Among those who attended were Ed Sheeran, Selena Gomez, Jennifer Lopez, Sabrina Carpenter, Brad Pitt, Tom Hanks, Bradley Cooper, Dakota Johnson, Seth Meyers, Jason Kelce, Kelsea Ballerini, Maren Morris, and Niecy Nash-Betts.
Eric Stonestreet, a guest at the wedding, shared his positive experience, noting that the couple created an environment where they could experience a sense of normalcy despite the high-profile nature of the event. He highlighted the security measures in place that ensured everyone’s safety, allowing the couple to enjoy their evening.
The Kansas City Chiefs have also released photos showcasing various offseason activities of their players. These images included a shot of Madison Square Garden following the wedding of Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift. Other photographs featured Patrick and Brittany Mahomes attending Argentina‘s 3-0 victory over Algeria in Kansas City on June 17.
Additional photos highlighted Kenneth Walker III, the new starting running back and reigning Super Bowl MVP, engaged in workouts. Walker joined the Chiefs in free agency after spending four seasons with the Seattle Seahawks. The offseason collection also depicted other Chiefs players getting engaged or married, and some welcoming new children.
Pat McAfee, who hosted Kelce’s announcement, described the nuptials as “the most spectacular evening I’ve ever been a part of.” He further elaborated on his July 13 episode that the event represented “the greatest night of all time.”
