He was promptly transported to the Montreal General Hospital, where a scan revealed a tear in the carotid artery on the right side of his neck. An MRI subsequently confirmed that he had indeed suffered two strokes.

Lavoie emphasized the necessity of seeking help quickly in similar situations. He stated, “Appelez de l’aide rapidement parce que plus vite vous êtes à l’hôpital, plus vos chances de limiter les séquelles augmentent.” His experience serves as a stark reminder of how swiftly health crises can unfold.
